HOUSING TOWER UTRECHT, THE NETHERLANDS

For BAM/Vesteda, a residential tower was designed that can be built entirely above ground. The commercial plinth and the residential floors are separated by 3 parking floors with storage spaces. The parking levels can be reached with 2 parking elevators. Because of this design, the residential floors start above the level of surrounding trees, but are also above the urban noise. The tower is 60 meters high and contains 58 luxury apartments. This tower design explores the limits of what can be done to make a residential tower as efficient as possible on a limited floor space. By solving the logistical systems entirely on its own land, the tower is not tied to a specific location but can be placed in several locations.
