2021 AMSTERDAM APARTMENT A6

In the south of Amsterdam we have completely renovated this spacious apartment. The apartment is located on the 2nd and 3rd floor and has a spacious roof terrace overlooking the city. The apartment has been rearranged and equipped with new stairs and an indoor atrium that provides access to the roof terrace. The entire installation has also been replaced in order to meet the current quality requirements.

The previously "cramped" apartment now has an open floor plan where the various functions are connected. Here, the longest possible lines of sight through the building were created in order to emphasize the space. These lines of sight, reinforced by a connecting cove of light, provide a pleasant sense of cohesion. Where an enclosure is desired, bronze pivot doors with glass filling have been placed.

The staircase that provides access to the living floor has been opened up and now forms part of the living space. An extra glass façade was added to the front façade in order to let the sunlight in over the entire front façade. Because of the open staircase there is no interruption in the experience of this light.

From the living floor with the master bedroom, a new staircase was made to the bedroom floor overlooking the atrium. This atrium provides access to the roof terrace and provides daylight in the apartment and brings the outdoor feeling close. On the roof terrace there is an outdoor kitchen and there is plenty of space, surrounded by planting, to enjoy the sun and the view.

The master bedroom on the 2nd floor has a walk-in closet and private bathroom. The bedroom features a warm color scheme and gives a luxurious hotel feel. This warm color scheme is felt throughout the apartment. A clear layout with lighter colors to emphasize the sightlines is interspersed with a warm color scheme in places where more of an intimate character of the space is desired. A sophisticated lighting plan provides optimal illumination of interior elements and enhances the desired intimate character. In addition to the lighting, a high-end sound system is linked to the home automation system so that the experience in the apartment perfectly matches the needs of the moment.
